About the Art
What the artist says

Finding inspiration in sand dunes, Alina plays with perspective through minimal forms and intentional color contrast, taking time to explore the natural flow and the challenge of the landscape.

Why we like it

Alina’s minimalism is balanced by her bold use of color.  Her landscapes are at once natural and abstract.

Where we hang it

This miniature needs to be solo, in a hallway or bathroom, where you can get up close and personal.

About the artist

Alina Knechtle

A native of Lithuania, Alina B Knechtle is a contemporary mixed media artist working in painting and glass, which she studied under the instruction of Valmantas Gutauskas, apprentice of the acclaimed Dale Chihuly. She also studied art history at the Akademie der Bildenden Kunste Munchen, sparking the influences of Franz Klein, Egon Schiele, and Gustav Klimt.  In her current work, Alina explores the relationship between landscapes and minimal expression.

As I am inspired by light and shadows, my travels and experiences have a large impact in the way I create.
