About the Artist
Theresa Hong
Theresa Hong is an abstract painter and printmaker living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area. She attended Emory University where she studied Psychology and Visual Arts and earned a masters degree in Art Therapy and Creativity Development at Pratt Institute. Her work explores movement and lively color interactions represented in abstract forms. The process comes through to Theresa as a continuous stream of thought, each shape informing the next. Theresa finds solace within her busy life through the art making process. Her art therapy background informs her open-minded and intuitive approach to creating. She believes in the healing power of art and the importance of a creative practice for all individuals. Her artwork is about motherhood, curiosity, and her own self-expression and continual creative growth. Theresa currently works as an art therapist in schools and mental health treatment centers.
