About the Art
What the artist saysI tend to view each painting created in nature as an active interaction with the natural world. I often will mix river waters, found clay, and natural pigments into the paint and onto the canvas, using found objects to scrape and manipulate the paint to reveal and obscure layers underneath.
Why we like itThe way in which Thomas’ paintings are made up of and interact within the natural world shapes them into artifacts of the landscape, preserving the specifics of a place and time through a thoughtful use of color and texture.
Where we hang itThomas’ maximalist canvases are incredibly versatile: hang this one solo in a minimalist living room or a colorfully adorned bedroom.
