The Edition

Our goal is to create a culture of art lovers with a passion for accessible art and the artists who create it.  In that community of art lovers are experts worth listening to and, like any other investment, buying art is built on personal relationships and trust.  There is an overwhelming amount of great art in this world: seek out and listen to guidance and suggestions, but also try to trust your own taste!

I hear the lament regularly. Friends from all around the world, all professions, residents of suburban towns and thriving international cities. Educated friends, rich and poor, stylish and some less so. They are all self-proclaimed “art lovers” but when it comes to becoming an art collector, they stop short with the defeatist mantra: “I don’t know how.”

They beg and plead for recommendations for what to buy or my opinion on whether or not their selections are “good”. While I’m flattered to be considered the arbiter of good...

People are understandably wary about dealing with the art world. It's historically exclusive and opaque. But we're busting through all the excuses we've heard over the years about why you aren't buying art. We hope that by the end of this post, you'll be itching to buy a new piece and we're linking our collection here to make it a little easier.

The art world is not immune to the gender inequities fought in every corner of our lives. Women have never been treated equally in the art world, and today they remain underrepresented and undervalued in museums, galleries, and auction houses.
