About the Art
A departure from the discipline of her pen drawings, these pieces were the beginning of the artist’s transition from drawing to painting. She uses watercolors for their ability to help tell great stories.
Milia is abstract, but seems to operate like a Rorschach ink blot test: we see a bird, but you might see something completely different: a truly versatile piece.
This piece makes a great addition to any gallery wall. It would work equally well in a small space like an office or study.
About the artist
Indiana-born artist Senil Neves works out of Los Angeles and is largely self-taught. She began painting, however, as a young child and continued growing her talent during her studies through her older years. Her portfolio is full of paintings, mixed media collages and a vast collection of traditional inks on paper. Senil’s paintings speak with abstract watercolors that bleed together to create both subtle imagery and enticing emotion, speaking of life’s ups and downs, endless love and the need for guided faith.
At times I have looked at things in life and thought they were simplistic, structural, and binary. And then moments when I felt blinded by colors and full of love and movement. There are two sides to everything, however the goal is to create a balance.”
