About the Art
What the artist saysWorking with pulled paint is all about embracing the unexpected—splashes, drips, and streaks that bring a sense of playfulness and spontaneity.
Why we like itWhile the gestural nature of Tracey’s works is abstract, she is still able to blend and layer her colors to create organic patterns.
Where we hang itAdd this one to any wall that needs a color injection.
About the Artist
Tracey Colla
Philadelphia-based artist Tracey Colla did not start her creative journey until she was in her 30s. She now works to draw or paint every day. Her work has been used to illustrate literary journals and textiles. When she’s not drawing, she is always on the lookout for interesting shapes, patterns and words in the world to bring into her work.“I am always drawn to color before anything else and I find the repetition of patterns comforting. I often start a piece without any plan or sketch and see where it takes me.”
