About the Artist

Christine Kwon
Christine Kwon was born in South Korea and moved to the United States at age 16. She earned a BFA in interior design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. After 18 years working in interiors, Christine embraced her true passion for painting, committing fully to contemporary abstraction in her artistic exploration.

Her work explores memories and emotions from everyday life that she translates into vibrant, abstract compositions. Using unprimed canvas and layered acrylics, she builds each piece with thoughtful consideration, allowing colors and forms to overlap and create depth. Her process is a dance: as she rotates her canvas, the artwork evolves, conjuring both connection and reflection as the viewer is invited into a shared emotional space. Christine’s work reflects the interplay of her South Korean heritage and the energy of New York City, woven within a deep spiritual connection. As she commits to her identity as a painter, she celebrates the way in which these elements converge, creating a unique dialogue between tradition and contemporary expression.

“Through modern abstraction, I aim to ignite emotions and spark thoughts using color and shape.”
