About the Art
What the artist saysMy floral watercolors, painted from life, capture the vibrant beauty of nature with each brushstroke. These pieces reflect the immediacy and freshness of flowers, as if freshly gathered from a garden.
Why we like itFleur's traditional floral depictions are as expressive as her abstract works. Even in black and white they are bold and emphatic.
Where we hang itThese larger works can stand on their own in any space. We would pair this one with "Composition Peony," Fleur's other black and white floral watercolor.
About the Artist
Fleur Thesmar
After graduating from Ecole Polytechnique and Imperial College, Fleur Thesmar worked 20 years in France in the high tech industry. Her arrival in the United States in 2015 triggered an ancient passion -- painting -- which she explored through classes in the Museum of Fine Arts studio art program. Since then, she has exhibited juried shows in the U.S. and around the world, working primarily in watercolor. She hopes to share her intense emotions and the change of perspective she has shaped through her migration to the United States.“I include in my paintings impressions of mathematical structures, which I complete with iterations of motifs representing the echoes and the harmony of the world.”
