About the Artist

Mary Claire Griffin
Mary Claire Griffin is a Chicago-based artist and photographer currently exploring self-portraiture. With a background in visual merchandising, she has recently explored what was previously a hobby in photography, diving into it as an artistic practice in recent years. She is highly influenced by minimalism and surrealism, often incorporating those themes into her work. Inspired by her surrounding environment, she seeks to challenge perceptions of identity and space, using her body to create images that resonate beyond their visual impact to reveal relationships between objects, line, color and perspective.

““I love exploring the interplay of lines, patterns, and colors, creating illusions that provoke viewers to contemplate the photographic process.””
