Why we like itThese works captivate and welcome the viewer into the artist's thoughts and emotions through a thoughtful combination of vivid colors and textures on paper.
Where we hang itZifeng’s gestural application and saturated palette would work best hung solo in a minimalist space.

About the Artist

Zifeng Zang
Philadelphia-based abstract artist Zifeng Zang explores the ways in which nature inspires and informs her work through her intuitive sense of color. Her paintings are dynamic expressions of movement and color, with random interactions between vibrant hues taking center stage. She endeavors to capture the unpredictability and fluid nature of her pigments as they blend to create a sense of energy and liveliness. Inspired by nature, music, and everyday experience, she is drawn to more subtle moments – the sun’s warmth, the ripple of water at the river’s edge – to inform her work and reflect her emotions and feelings.

Her love for art began at a young age and continued to grow throughout her formal education, with dual BFA degrees from Jilin University in China and West Chester University of Pennsylvania. While her experience as a graphic designer and brand manager in both advertising and tech allowed her to hone my skills in creating imagery characters and advertisement scripts using digital tools, she was always drawn to the traditional art of painting.

“My process is always driven by a desire to capture the essence of a moment or a feeling, and to express that through color, shape, and texture.”
