About the Art
What the artist says
Watercolor allows to mix precise marks, and stains diffusing the pigments at random on paper. It opens up to an ideal spontaneity to mark time and memory. Water and paper allow you to open up to luck, as in life.
Why we like it
Though influenced by patterns found in science and nature, Fleur’s work feels random and spontaneous.
Where we hang it
This larger body of work can be hung solo, wherever you need a quiet moment.
About the Artist
Fleur Thesmar
After graduating from Ecole Polytechnique and Imperial College, Fleur Thesmar worked 20 years in France in the high tech industry. Her arrival in the United States in 2015 triggered an ancient passion -- painting -- which she explored through classes in the Museum of Fine Arts studio art program. Since then, she has exhibited juried shows in the U.S. and around the world, working primarily in watercolor. She hopes to share her intense emotions and the change of perspective she has shaped through her migration to the United States.“I include in my paintings impressions of mathematical structures, which I complete with iterations of motifs representing the echoes and the harmony of the world.”
